In class recently, the children were presented with their very own lump of clay and received pointers on how to make a pinch pot.

Having completed this task, the creative juices started to flow and they came up with with lots of ideas of their own. Their imaginations were alive with new ideas to improve and tweak their pots.

They thoroughly enjoyed the process as well as the calmness of the entire task.

Introducing paint at a later stage turned their pieces of art into absolute masterpieces, which meant they wanted to bring them home immediately - even if the paint was still wet!

Perhaps we have encouraged and stimulated some budding new sculptors of the future!
